The film is about a few conversations and social events amongst the elderly residents of Koknese, a small sleepy town in Latvia. Glimpses of their past and current lives, memories, trauma and joy experienced and reflected as they come together to share them.

A personal note on March 25, 2025:
In Latvia, the 25th March commemorates the mass deportation of 1949. It seems like an appropriate time to share the film that was mostly shot during an event that commemorated this day.

Working on it was a rite of passage. A personal processing of the collective experience of deportations and occupation you grow up learning about. In the film, one of the characters, she recounts her experience of being deported to Siberia and says that she will forever remember that moment of the train leaving the station in Latvia.
